Beaches:
Pacific or Caribbean, two coasts, both coasts are very different. There are a lot of options to choose from. It depends if you are looking for: relaxing, secluded beaches, party, meeting people, surfing,

Costa Rica does not have many attractive colonial cities. San José as Karla likes to call it “It is a big city in a small country”.

Liberia is the nicest city, located in the Northern region, in Guanacaste.

Islands:
Costa Rica has 2 major Islands and several smaller ones. The most famous is the Cocos Island on the Pacific, which is known for great diving and its population of Hammerhead sharks.  It’s located in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.
Caño Island is close to the mainland.  Here you can hike through the rainforest, snorkel, dive or spend a relaxing day on the uninhabited beach.
